Bound For Glory has become TNA’s showcase Pay Per View since the inception of the event back in 2005. In preparation for Bound For Glory 4, ChampionshipWrestlingOnline.com takes a look back at some of the more memorable matches in the history of the PPV.

Bound For Glory 1: 2005

TNA Impact! Zone in Orlando, Florida. Unlike previous TNA pay-per-views (except their first three-hour pay-per-view in November 2004, Victory Road), a paid ticket was made available at the TNA website, which purchased both entry into a pre-show experience on October 22 at a Doubletree hotel near Universal Studios. The main matches on the card showcased the likes of Jeff Hardy, Abyss, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe.

A monsters ball match between Rhino, Abyss Sabu and Jeff Hardy!

AJ Styles V Christopher Daniels




A showcase match between two of what are thought to be the main stay stars of TNA.

Samoa Joe V Jushin Liger

The submission machine Samoa Joe against Jushin Liger, who is one of the most championed superstars in Japan.

Bound For Glory 2: 2006

The 2006 event was staged at the Compuware Sports Arena in the Detroit, Michigan. It was in fact the first TNA pay-per-view event held in a location other than Nashville, Tennessee, or Orlando, Florida, since the first two weekly pay-per-views in June 2002, which were held in Huntsville, Alabama. The main event saw Sting face Jeff Jarrett.

Christian Cage V Rhyno


The feud between the two former friends and tag team partners came to a head in this match.

Sting V Jeff Jarrett

The main event of the 2006 Bound For Glory Event saw Sting, who had recentley returned to Wrestling following a lengthy time away from the sport, face Jeff Jarrett.

Bound For Glory 3: 2007
The third edition of the pay per view took place at the Gwinnett Center in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth, Georgia. The main matches on the card saw the likes of Sting, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Christian Cage in action.

The Steiner Brothers V Team 3D

This match saw two of the most recognisable tag teams in the history of wrestling, with the Steiner Brothers, who were so popular in the early 1990’s against Team 3D.

Sting V Kurt Angle

For the second year Sting headlined the pay per view, this time facing Kurt Angle, who had recently jumped ship to TNA from the WWE.
