At TNA Final Resolution former ECW and WWE superstar Al Snow made a surprise appearance to declare war on his long time friend Mick Foley.
Kurt Angle had promised to bring surprise guests to be in his corner for his match against Rhino, with many insiders mis-reading the clues and “revealing” that the guests would be either Terry Funk or Mikey Whipwreck.
The appearance of AL Snow was completely unexpected as his name had all but disappeared from the wrestling world since he was released from his job as a trainer for the WWE’s former developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in 2007.
However, the man who owes a lot of his career to the popularity of a mannequin head has arrived in TNA and looks like he will be working closely with his friend Foley.
If you haven’t read any of Mick Foley’s autobiographies, then you won’t know that Snow is in fact the victim of many of the jokes throughout the books.
This was actually capitalised to a certain degree by the WWE back in 2000, where Al Snow has a stint as a heel due to the jokes that were made in Foley’s books.
However due to the time which has passed, it wouldn’t be very wise for TNA to regurgitate it, perhaps Mr. Snow will have some resentment towards Foley, or even be jealous of his successful return to the business?
In 2000, WWE once ran a brief storyline where Al Snow turned heel on Mick Foley because of the jokes that were made in his autobiographies.
This time around, though, it wouldn’t make sense for TNA to use the same storyline because it’s been years after the fact.
It would be better if the company went with a storyline where Al Snow was jealous of Mick Foley’s continued success in the wrestling business.
The advertising posters for the TNA Genesis pay per view strongly suggest that Mick Foley will be heavily involved, a match against Al Snow shouldn’t be completely ruled out of the equation.
Despite Al Snow not being a “main event player” in the eyes of many wrestling fans, the TNA creative team may have stumbled upon (or thoroughly planned to capture) somebody who can produce an interesting and entertaining feud with Foley.
